Dirty Martini

A classic cocktail variation that adds olive brine to the traditional martini for a savory twist.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Sipsmith® London Dry Gin (or other quality gin)
  • 10-15ml dry vermouth
  • 2 barspoons olive brine
  • 2-3 olives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill mixing glass with ice
  2. Add gin, dry vermouth, and olive brine
  3. Stir for 21 seconds (Four Seasons Restaurant tradition)
  4. Strain into chilled cocktail glass
  5. Garnish with olives

Notes

  • Use high-quality gin for best results
  • Adjust olive brine to taste
  • Traditional garnish is an odd number of olives
  • Can be made “extra dirty” with more olive brine
  • Always serve in a chilled glass
  • The 21-second stir is a classic technique for perfect dilution
