Gold Rush Cocktail

A modern classic cocktail created at Milk & Honey in New York during the mid-2000s, featuring bourbon, honey, and lemon juice.

Ingredients

  • 60ml bourbon (preferably high-proof)
  • 22.5ml fresh lemon juice
  • 22.5ml honey syrup*

*For honey syrup:

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare honey syrup (if needed):

    • Combine honey and water in a small saucepan
    • Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until honey dissolves
    • Cool before using
    • Store in sealed container in refrigerator for up to 5 days
  2. Make cocktail:

    • Fill cocktail shaker with ice
    • Add bourbon, lemon juice, and honey syrup
    • Shake well until chilled
    • Strain into an ice-filled double old-fashioned glass
