Ingredients

Fresh Produce

  • 3 Bosc pears (8-ounce each), firm but ripe
    • Peeled, cored, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup white onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 large serrano or jalapeño chili with seeds, minced

Seasonings

  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients:

    • Peel, core, and finely chop pears
    • Finely chop onion
    • Chop herbs
    • Mince chili
  2. Combine all ingredients in medium bowl

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste

Notes

  • Can be made 3 hours ahead and chilled (cover well)
  • Use firm but ripe pears for best texture
  • Adjust chili amount for desired heat level
  • Great with chips, grilled meats, or fish
  • Keep seeds in chili for more heat, remove for milder version
